Sarah feels at home in St Neots

Sarah Watson, our new Patient Services Advisor, loves her role and has felt welcome at St Neots from her first day there.

Her previous experience, in customer facing roles and as a healthcare assistant, has given her the ideal skills for her current role.

She said: ‘‘I am very much a people person and love working in a team. I have a lot of contact with patients so it is about treating people in a friendly and responsive way. People may be frustrated, not at your but the situation so it is important to take a step  back and say “I am really sorry you are going through that and we can try and help you this way …”  and treat each as a fresh start.

‘I didn’t realise how many job opportunities there are available until I had my Lakeside induction training. That was a massive eye opener and very encouraging. It doesn’t matter where you start, you can end up anywhere and I am really interested in issues like mental health and safeguarding, so who knows how my career in Lakeside will progress?

‘I love it here and have never worked anywhere where I have felt so at home, even from the first day. I can honestly say that the staff here are absolutely brilliant and I have had no bad interaction with anyone – everyone has been so helpful.’
