Join our Patient Participation Group

Our Patient Participation Group is reforming and we are inviting applications from anyone who wants to be involved in its membership or leadership.

A Patient Participation Group acts as a ‘critical friend’ to a GP Practice and any registered patient can apply to join.

They are a forum to ask questions, raise issues or suggest ways that our practice could develop. Our management team and staff may attend to represent the practice in discussions so decisions take into account everyone's viewpoint.

Patient Participation Group (PPG) meetings are not intended as a way of raising personal or medical issues or grievances but are a regulated method of constructive dialogue.

The leadership structure and agenda will be managed by the PPG and members may also wish to take part in activities such as volunteering at flu clinics, meeting patients in the practice, and distributing newsletters and leaflets. The remit is as wide as the input and contribution of the membership.

Practice Manager Sarah Parren said;

'Ideally we would like the PPG to comprise patients from a wide demographic in terms of age, gender and background. Patients can register their interest, either by using the online form on our website or by filling in a paper form which can be collected and handed back to our receptions. The PPG will set its own timetable and activities, but we imagine it will start with a commitment to attend one meeting per month.'

If you wish to join please register your interest as soon as possible.
