Lucy Richardson
Lucy Richardson is a new social prescriber at St Neots, supporting patients with social, emotional and practical issues that could be affecting their health and wellbeing such as bereavement, housing, financial issues and isolation and loneliness.
She has a degree in health and social care and previously was a recovery worker in a charity working with drug and alcohol users.
Lucy said: ‘It has always been important to me to make a difference to people’s lives. I was fortunate that I went into the drug and alcohol field after university and saw the behaviour change that is possible and the positive impact that you can have on people and their lifestyle. It was really rewarding, and challenging at times, to see how you can empower people to make changes for them, their lifestyle and families.
‘It has been really interesting seeing how General Practice works; we have a newly established personalised care team and all have complementary skills and backgrounds, but work together for the best outcomes for our patients.’
