Prostate Cancer Awareness Group Consultation Sessions

We are holding a series of Prostate Cancer Awareness Group Consultation sessions on Saturday 29 November 2025, from 9am to 12pm at Cedar House Practice.
These sessions are designed to support patients who may be at higher risk of developing prostate cancer.
During each session, patients will take part in a group discussion with one of our GPs. The discussion will cover prostate cancer risk factors and the role of PSA testing. Patients who choose to have a PSA test may be able to have their blood test on the day, or they can book a separate appointment if needed.
Dr Chetty, GP at Lakeside Healthcare at St Neots, said: “Prostate cancer often has no symptoms in the early stages, which is why understanding your risk is so important. These sessions give patients the time and space to learn more, ask questions, and make informed decisions about testing. We hope this proactive approach helps more men feel confident about their prostate health.”
We are also proud to be working with Dave Young, a local prostate cancer campaigner who has dedicated his time to raising awareness and encouraging early action. Dave will be attending the sessions to share his experience and speak with patients. His passion for this work comes from personal experience and a commitment to helping others avoid late diagnoses.
Dave Young said: “I’ve seen firsthand what prostate cancer can do to families. If speaking up encourages even one man to get a PSA test early, then every effort is worth it. That’s why I’m so passionate about raising awareness and urging men to take their health seriously.”
