Repeat Prescriptions
We will process your repeat prescription request and send it to your chosen pharmacy within 3 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
Sometimes we may not be able to issue your prescription straight away—for example, if:
- you are due a medication review,
- your medicine is not on repeat, or
- you need important monitoring (such as blood tests, blood pressure checks, or an ECG).
If this happens, we will contact you within 3 working days to let you know what action you need to take.
Once your prescription has been approved by us, please allow extra time for your pharmacy or dispensary to prepare your medication.
To help avoid delays:
- Please request your medication one week before you will need it.
- Make sure to respond promptly to any letters or text messages asking you to book monitoring appointments for your medication review.

Order Repeat Prescriptions Using SystmOnline
We offer an online service SystmOnline which allows you to request repeat prescriptions and view your medical record. If you have the NHS App you may find it easier to access these features through the App instead.
If you want to use SystmOnline then you need to register for an account. More details about the platform and how to use it are available here.

Other Ways to Order
- You will be able to request further supplies of medication on the computerised slip that is attached to your repeat prescription. Please note that we require 72 hours notice to process requests (Working days).
- You can choose to have your prescription sent to the pharmacy of your choice so that your medication can be collected direct from them. Please ask a receptionist for further details.
- You cannot order repeat prescriptions via Anima. The NHS App is a quick and easy way to order repeat medications
Sedative prescribing for fear of flying
Sedatives are not recommended for fear of flying. The reasons for this can be understood in our policy.
